PrEP (pre-exposure prophylaxis) is a medicine approved by the FDA; people at risk for HIV take to prevent HIV from sex or injection drug use. When taken as prescribed, PrEP is highly effective for preventing HIV.
Red Project wants everyone in the community to be as informed as possible. PrEP has been around in the U.S. since 2012; however, many people still do not know about it. And those who do know what PrEP may not know enough about it to make an informed decision on whether or not to use it. One of the barriers to obtaining PrEP is access. Red Project can assist with navigating insurance and financial assistance for PrEP.

Calling xylazine “naloxone resistant” is a bit silly, considering that it’s not an opioid and therefore not meant for it. Xylazine is almost exclusively found WITH opioids, and so if someone isn’t adequately breathing, should still be given naloxone along w other supportive care
