Red Project’s Early Intervention Specialists focus on identifying people living with HIV/AIDS (PLWHA) who are aware of their status yet not successfully engaged in treatment. They also focus on identifying people at high risk for contracting HIV through outreach and connecting them to prevention services.
While case management and medical treatment are available throughout Kent County, many individuals face barriers in accessing both or don’t know where to start after receiving their diagnosis. Early Intervention Specialists navigate initial services.

Calling xylazine “naloxone resistant” is a bit silly, considering that it’s not an opioid and therefore not meant for it. Xylazine is almost exclusively found WITH opioids, and so if someone isn’t adequately breathing, should still be given naloxone along w other supportive care
